Packard Images HDR
High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography is the technique used to capture a wide range of values between the lightest and darkest areas of a subject or scene.
In essence the results produced are far closer to what the brain "sees" as reality due to our ability to comprehend a much higher dynamic range than most digital cameras can process.
In HDR photography I generally use multiple exposures of the same image, which are overalyed and tone mapped to produce an image which allows me to capture detail in areas of the brightest highlights as well as deepest shadows.
This technique is seen by some as controversial due to some photographers overusing this method to produce unrealistic, dreamlike or overprocessed images.
At the end of the day its down to personal preference as to whether you like the images I have in this gallery. Its an area of photography that I enjoy and I hope these examples inspire you to ask more about HDR techniques.
